Jerome's Law Q&A

Your name:
Adam Fleming.

Where are you from?
Dublin, Ireland.

Name of band:
Jerome's Law.

Who else is in your band?:
We are: Adam Fleming, Shane O'Neill, Ronan Parker, Mark Sheridan, Jerome Williams.

How would you describe yourselves?:
Restless song-omnivores.

Who are your main influences musically?:
There are lots and it would be reductive, I think, to list them. Each of us listens very widely and I have to be careful here; doubtless everyone in the band has their own ideas about what kind of music we play. But generally we like things that combine structure with imagination. An interesting point of view is vital too. Genuine personality, basically. And we all love The Beatles, I have no problem admitting that.

What do you hope to achieve in music?:
To make it and have people dig it. And to keep getting better at it.

What has been the highlight of your career so far, and why?:
When we launched our album last January. It was the culmination of nearly a year of hard work, all done entirely under our own steam; a proper DIY job. Very gratifying to have it all come together in a moment like that.

And what’s the moment you want to forget?:
God, I dunno. We had a couple of hairy moments when we were actually making the album. I think we were doing a bit too much soul-searching and it became detrimental to our judgement. Everything sounded terrible to me at one stage. I'd rather not go back there.

If you could choose one of your songs as an advert for your music, what would it be and why?
I'm going to say the song 'Albedo' from our album. When we wrote it, it seemed like a real departure from our past and a point maturation for us as musicians. Of all the songs on our album, it has the best confluence of atmosphere and emotion. It gets across a feeling, I think.

Where can we listen to it?:
You can listen right here: http://jeromeslaw.bandcamp.com/track/albedo-2

Where can we find out more about your music?:
You can find us all over the net. We're very modern that way. Here are the links:
