Marquis of Vaudeville Q&A

Band name:
Marquis of Vaudeville.

Where are you from?
Originally from Neverwhere, or the middle of nowhere Texas. Nowadays we call Dallas, TX home.

How would you describe yourselves?
As a musical menagerie of melodic mischief. One fan described us as progressive psychedelic punk cabaret.

Who are your main influences musically?
Danny Elfman, Bob Ezrin, Yann Tiersen, Stara Zagora, Pink Floyd, David Bowie, Queen, The Beatles, The Cure, ELO, Alice Cooper, Ravi Shankar, Stuart Chatwood, music of other cultures from around the world, 60's psychedelic, 70's Glam, 80's New Wave, Dark/Punk Cabaret.

What do you hope to achieve in music?
To change the reality of the world in which we live. We wish to inspire, to spread beauty and spark imagination for those who desperately wish for something more. We want to open people's eyes, hearts, and minds, make them feel, realize they are alive; awaken, bloom, blossom, reach, engage, create.

What has been the highlight of your career so far, and why?
The completion and release of our album, The Great Promenade of Fools & Ghosts. We put everything of ourselves into the music. It's an extension of who we are. Expressing ourselves creatively and musically is the ultimate high.

And what’s the moment you want to forget?
Let's just say we've had our fair share of "Spinal Tap" moments backstage and on the road.

If you had to pick just one of your songs to represent your music, what would it be and why?
The Wild Lost - As the song is also the name of our fanbase and represents the bulk of our fans who are an illustrious consortium of wanderers, wishers, misfits, outsiders, darers, dreamers, eccentrics, oddlings, and other strangefolk.

Where can we listen to it?

Where can we find out more about your music?

Anything else you’d like to say about your band/music that I forgot to ask?

We want to smash the scene, stir things up a bit, blow people's minds. We only wish to inspire others with our music just as the artists, writers, and musicians that we love forever inspired and affected us.
