Oh, Infamous City Q&A

Your name:
Chris Johnson but a lot of people call me CJay.

Where are you from?
I personally am from Belton, Texas an hour north of Austin. For the most part we are from around the central Texas area (Austin, Cedar park, Jonestown, Belton). One of our members is from Katy, Tx near Houston.

Name of band:
We've gone through some name changes in the past but we're fixed on Oh, Infamous City

Who else is in your band?
My bandmates are founding members Ward Rogers (Lead Guitar), Dennis Curlee (Bass), Luke Donahue (Drums), and our newest addition Ian Gust (Rhythm Guitar).

How would you describe yourselves?
On stage we're energetic. Some of us can't stay on the stage for too long, we're always running around. Off stage we're really chill and ready for conversation. We mesh well and are passionate about what we do. Concerning style we're a Christian metalcore band but we are diving into the Djent field with our writing as of late with some acoustic backdrops for variety.

Who are your main influences musically?
Our main influences come from what each of us listen to the most and what has impacted us. Bands like A Plea for Purging, All That Remains, The Chariot, Born of Osiris and August Burns Red.

What do you hope to achieve in music?
To get plenty of exposure, to make intentional music and to get to know our followers. As long as our music is hitting people's ears and they understand what we're about then we're happy.

What has been the highlight of your career so far, and why?
Recording our latest single. It really is a turning point in our development as a band. Better quality and a more aggressive writing style has really motivated us.

And what’s the moment you want to forget?
Nothing really. It’s been an adventure!

If you could choose one of your songs as an advert for your music, what would it be and why?
You Plague Me. It’s our newest single and it’s a real turning point in our song writing. It’s personal and shares a glimpse of the struggles of life we as a band can find ourselves in, but gives hope in what we believe.

Where can we listen to it (direct link)?
