Jason Furr.
Where are you
from?
Originally from Dallas, Texas. Currently residing in NW
Arkansas.
Name of band:
Back Door Guests.
Who else is in
your band?
For the most part I wrote and
recorded the album Presenting alone. My wife Emily sang on few
tracks, and my brother Justin played drums and bass on a couple songs. As far as live performances, Zac Lehman, KC Swink (when in town from Seoul, Korea) and a few others help when schedules allow. Looking to expand the BDG
family soon... and I'm not talking about kids, Mom!
How would you
describe yourselves?
Alternative folk rock.
Who are your
main influences musically?
Anything is fair game when
inspiration is concerned, but my heavy hitters are: Led Zeppelin, Ryan Adams,
and Bob Schneider.
What do you hope
to achieve in music?
To run it smooth. Choosing a career in
music has to be one of the worst ideas ever, but I'm not qualified for anything
else!
What has been
the highlight of your career so far, and why?
When we heard
our song on the local blues show on NPR. Those things give you the
momentum to keep pressing on.
And what’s the
moment you want to forget?
Don't want to forget
anything...yet. I've learned something from every misstep along the way.
If you had to
choose just one of your songs to represent your music, what would it be and
why?
GTMO. I very rarely get political, but this one has a
little jab.
Where can we
listen to it?
It can be downloaded for free at www.backdoorguests.com
Where
can we find out more about your music?
Anything else
you’d like to say about your band that I forgot to ask?
We
are looking for management and/or booking agent. And we are planning to make
our way to England soon...
