Bennington Q&A

Your name:
Tyler Gordon.

Where are you from?
Nashville, Tennessee, USA.

Name of band :
Bennington.

Who else is in your band?
Todd Rolfs-Drums/Percussion
Seth Griffin-Lead Guitar
Dusty Bausch-Bass/Backup Vox
Jason Friedman-Keys/Backup Vox
Erin Hazelrig-Mandolin/Backup Vox

How would you describe yourselves?
Music fans from the start, which is what has brought about our eclectic style. There’s so many different ways to express oneself artistically - we’d be doing things for the wrong reasons if we were to try and fit inside of a box. Passion is the driving force behind us working to push the envelope for a fresh sound that leaves people wondering what will come next. We work to develop a style that incorporates melodic anthems, primal rhythms, and diverse musical trends.

Who are your main influences musically?
Mumford and Sons, The Lumineers, The Black Keys, and Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros.

What do you hope to achieve in music?
Develop a loyal following that helps us support extended tours and a longevous career.

What has been the highlight of your career so far, and why?
Within one month of its release, our debut album Visual Cues was featured as one of Noisetrade.com’s top downloaded albums. That has opened some doors for us in receiving college radio airplay and press reviews.

And what’s the moment you want to forget?
I already did - it’s the only way to stay sane in this industry.

If you had to choose just one of your songs to represent your music, what would it be and why?
Choo! - Its dynamics build from a primitive and somewhat elegant feel, to an anticipated shockwave of energy that pumps the rhythmic heart through depths of raw voices and shouting melodies, while requiring an artful percipience in finding the substance within the story. In other words, fans have been digging it.

Where can we listen to it?

Where can we find out more about your music?

Anything else you’d like to say about your band that I forgot to ask?
The band was created in March of this year, and as AC/DC puts it, "It's a long way to the top if you want to rock and roll".While we don’t have any desire in being at the top, we still have a long way to go. So if you like our sound, and would like to continue to hear more tunes, we ask for your support. The best part of the day is our time focused towards developing relationships with our fans so reach out to us and let's talk music :)
