Michael Storey.
Where are you from?
York, UK.
Name of band:
Knights.
Who else is in your band?
James Denham,
Kevin Kendall, Joe Drury.
How would you describe yourselves?
Well the newer stuff's
a lot more chaotic and mental. Just think about a mental patient having broken
free of their white jacket and running riot, well that, amplified!
Who are your main influences musically?
Converge, The
Chariot, Johnny Truant, Entombed.
What do you hope to achieve in music?
At least one tour
round the world. To do Sundwave Festival, Australia would be insane too!
Probably more a personal goal that one.
What has been the highlight of your career so far, and
why?
Playing Make A Scene festival, Middlesbrough - there were
loads of great bands on including Hacktivist, Heights, Odessa and the
atmosphere was great. Best local show we've played and we got a great reception
from the audience too.
And what’s the moment you want to forget?
Probably the first show we played - we basically played
one song to a fruit machine in a badly promoted gig in Sunderland, then the PA
blew up. And it was snowing.
If you had to choose just one of your songs to represent
your music, what would it be and why?
Naturally I'd pick a newer one, but they're not for
public listening yet so I'll say Mirrors from our debut album Fables. It's
quick, aggressive but has melodic elements in which sit nicely in the
song.
