The Honeyrunners Q&A

Name of band:
The Honeyrunners.

Where are you from?
Toronto, Canada.

Who is in your band?
Dan Dwoskin // Keys + lead vox
Marcus Bucci // Guitar + vox
Brandon Robins // Drums + vox
Mike Bolton // Bass + vox

How would you describe yourselves?
Bona-fide, soul wrenching Motown rock made by four scruffy white guys from Canada.

Who are your main influences musically?
The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, The Temptations, CSNY, Etta James, Allman Brothers, Hendrix, Otis Redding, The Rolling Stones, and so so many more we owe our tastes to...

What do you hope to achieve in music?
To help people escape, and to create music that can stand the test of time - songs that feel like they were meant to be.

What has been the highlight of your career so far, and why?
We performed a new song live on CTV Canada AM (a national breakfast TV program in Canada) for a viewing audience of roughly 800,000+ people. The rush, the nerves, the pressure of perfection, the pull-through - it was one of the most intense moments of our music career thus far. Check out the performance HERE!

And what’s the moment you want to forget?
Once, we drove four hours to play a show in North Bay, Ontario. After the three hour show, we tried to sleep for two hours before hitting the road for a six-hour drive to Montreal, Quebec, for another University show. Worse, we played for an hour outside in the rain and then had to drive seven hours back to Toronto. All in all, about 18 hours on the road, little sleep, and 4 hours of music - I'm fairly sure we all cheated death that day. And I'm sure we'll do it again and again in 2014.

If you had to pick just one of your songs to represent your music, what would it be and why?
Jet Set, the first single off of our EP, really set a benchmark for the development of our sound. It manages to sound modern, but it also evokes a good deal of nostalgia both musically and lyrically. It's a story about escape, growth, youth, and curiosity - some fairly universal heart warmers.

Where can we find out more about your music?
