Metallica and Maiden for Sonisphere 2014

METAL legends Metallica and Iron Maiden have been confirmed as two of the headliners for this year's Sonisphere festival.

The event will take place at Knebworth Park from July 4th to 6th next year and marks 40 years of rock at the iconic venue in Hertfordshire, England.

A Sonisphere spokesman said: "These giants of the world stage return together to fly the Sonisphere flag once more - bigger and bolder than ever before.

"For the first time ever fans will have the chance to see both bands come together to head up what will surely make for one of the most historic festival bills in heavy rock music."
