Dan
Kert.
Where are you
from:
London, United Kingdom.
Name of band:
Plastic Barricades.
Who is in
your band?
Dan Kert on guitar, keyboards and
vocals, Daniele Borgato on bass and Frazer Webster on drums.
How would you
describe yourselves?
Romantic and honest, gloomy and curious, melodic and melancholic,
Plastic Barricades chronicle life in the troubled yet fascinating XXI century
with painstaking sincerity, asking questions and trying to find the answers.
Who are your
main influences musically?
Inspired and influenced by almighty
Radiohead, Oasis, Coldplay, Muse, Keane, Razorlight, Nirvana and many others,
Plastic Barricades love to experiment with styles, sound and approach.
What do you hope
to achieve in music?
Plastic Barricades' dream is to be able to make people
happy. Make them think about important aspects of life, help them make
decisions, pursue dreams and forget the boundaries. We are supporting several
charity organizations including British Red Cross and Oxfam, hopefully we will
have our own fund someday soon.
What has been
the highlight of your career so far, and why?
In 2013 the band has
been nominated for "Oxjam Band of the Year" and "MTV Brand New
2014". In February 2014 Plastic Barricades were voted to #1
out of 222 bands participating in Hard Rock Cafe London Global Battle of the
Bands competition and played a sold out gig at the notorious London
venue.
And what’s the
moment you want to forget?
Anything - from absolute failures to epic glory - is
the part of the path. I really want to remember all of it, in great detail.
That is why I write songs, they are like little documentary films, that will
last forever.
If you had to
pick just one of your songs to represent your music, what would it be and why?
We have a new single out called "Shine!". We've been testing in on
gigs for the last six months - and everybody falls in love with it. We like it
too. It is our ode to self-improvement.
Where can we
listen to it?

Where can we
find out more about your music?:
Anything else you’d like to say about your band/music that I forgot to
ask?
Shimmering
bass and ringing guitars
Meaningful lyrics healing your scars
Heart-breaking beat put on repeat
Mystical keyboards make us complete
Curious, happy, honest and sad
Future of mankind makes us gloomy and mad
Don’t try to run, nowhere to hide
There is no escape from our little Plastic Tribe!
