How would you describe yourselves?
It's indie rock but we love some of the country sounds and instrumentation that inspired some of our heroes. I remember the first time I was asked this and I just blurted out, 'awkward indie' which was a joke at the time but it is pretty true of our music - stories about problems/situations that everyone goes through really. On a personal level, like any twenty-something male, my lyrics mostly centre around relationships past and present. It's clichéd but I've always thought that it's not what you say but the sincerity with which you say it. If that is communicated genuinely then I think that comes across no matter what.

Who are your main influences musically?
Apart from individual tastes we all agree that bands like Death Cab For Cutie, Camera Obscura, The Smiths, Rilo Kiley and Ryan Adams have all had the same amount of impact on us as fans and musicians. The way they arrange songs and present them has always impressed and inspired us in equal measure.

What do you hope to achieve in music?
The Holy Grail is longevity isn't it? I hope we can find an audience that likes what we're doing. We've only been a band for 10 months so it's early days but I'm just happy taking it a song at a time and improving as a writer and as a musician. We are lucky enough to live in Manchester, a city that has an abundance of opportunities for bands to create and showcase their talents. Flip-side of that of course is that it's ultra competitive but that doesn't bother us. We're confident we can make good songs. I'm lucky enough to be doing that with a good group of friends.

What has been the highlight of your career so far, and why?
I can't speak for the others but for me, seeing and hearing songs you've cobbled together on a guitar in a bedroom being brought to life by mates and then those songs actually going down well with strangers at a gig. And what’s the moment you want to forget?
I'm not sure I want to forget. Another cliché here but I think everything that happens to you whilst being involved in band is something to learn from be it good or bad. And more often than not, moments you wish you could forget provide the best material!

If you had to pick just one of your songs to represent your music, what would it be and why?
Personally it would be The Other Side Of Somewhere. It's the first song we wrote as a band and it's very special to all of us. Always goes down well at gigs.
