mylittlebrother Q&A

Will Harris from mylittlebrother

Your name:
Will Harris.

Where are you from?
Cumbria, England.

Name of band:
mylittlebrother.

Who else is in your band?
Dan Mason and dozens of other musicians, depending on when and where the gig is. Dan's pretty much a constant.

How would you describe yourselves?
Relatively lo-fi sixties influenced indie pop. Maybe.

Who are your main influences musically?
Anything and everything really. People have said we sound like Grandaddy, Dennis Wilson, The Beatles, Clifford T Ward, Beach Boys, Graham Coxon. We're more than happy with these!

What do you hope to achieve in music?
Just to keep enjoying writing and performing, really, and to enjoy anything else that comes along.

What has been the highlight of your career so far, and why?
The lead track from our debut EP 'Nosedive' (www.soundcloud.com/mylittlebrother/nosedive) got a load of airplay, including being played by Tom Robinson on 6music. That was certainly a highlight, as it was a song I wrote and recorded in my bedroom, and I certainly hadn't expected national attention!

And what’s the moment you want to forget?
We're based in Cumbria, and we're skint musicians, so the long, budget bus journeys to gigs in the South can be quite arduous.. They're always worth it though!

If you could choose one of your songs as an advert for your music, what would it be and why?
It's hard to say, but I'd probably go for 'Nosedive'

Where can we listen to it?
www.soundcloud.com/mylittlebrother/nosedive

and we're on instagram as mylittlebrother too.

Anything else you’d like to say about your band that I forgot to ask?
Our debut EP "Nosedive" is available for free download from www.soundcloud.com/mylittlebrother and our follow up EP "Hey Stethoscope" will be released on 6th Jan.
