How would
you describe yourselves?
We generally say we are 'quirky pop’, but we are very into keeping things very real and raw sounding - so our music is honest and organic - no layering up parts on our recordings to make us sound bigger than we are. We try and keep things very live sounding. Our two lead vocals are incredibly contrasting but work really well together, playing off each other and creating some awesome harmonies!

Who are your
main influences musically?
We love all the old greats like Fleetwood Mac, The Police, Dire Straits, Carole King, James Taylor… so we're really influenced by all of that, and then of a more modern day ilk we love people like John Mayer. People have also compared us to bands like Maroon 5 because they have a similar 'live band' type feel.

What do
you hope to achieve in music?
We're releasing our first single, 'Happy' in January, which is exciting! We just hope to keep doing what we're doing really. If people like it, then we'll keep on going and the aim is to really get our music out to a bigger audience. We love what we do and hope we can always be making music!

What has
been the highlight of your career so far, and why?
We've had some amazing experiences this year, one of our favourites was being flown out toBelfast to perform at
Belfast Pride. We had no idea how big it was going to be but when we turned up
we were performing in a huge open square with 7000 people watching us, and then
another 18,000 around the city watching on big screens. It was an awesome
feeling and everyone was very welcoming to us! Other highlights were recording
our EP - we stayed in a big 'live-in' studio for a week and it was amazing fun
- just hanging out and making music!

And
what’s the moment you want to forget?
To be honest, with this band, there aren't any! It’s all been amazing so far. We've all done various things as musicians before being in Unsung Lilly which I'm sure we want to forget. One of mine is probably having to dress up as 'cat woman' and do a full gig in character, and then take competition winners out to dinner (still in character!) - LOL. Not something I particularly want to repeat! Although it was good fun really...

If you
could choose one of your songs as an advert for your music, what would it be
and why?:
It’s hard to choose one song, because all our songs have different vibes to them. A lot of music industry people think a band should only create one type of music - we're kinda going against that at the moment which is ruffling a few feathers here and there. Our first single, 'Happy' is a very happy-go-lucky tune, with a reggae/ska pop type feel, whereas the title track of our EP 'Time Changes Minds' has more depth and is more laid back and funky/soulful. The thing that links it all together though is that everything is real, very live feeling and has two beautiful vocals working around each other. A good one to listen to that encompasses all of that is 'Always Be There'.

Anything
else you’d like to say about your band that I forgot to ask?
We're just hugely grateful that we get to make music and people are into it. The response online has been amazing, and we're really touched by that! So big thanks to everyone out there who has been so supportive!
