Bowie still missing from UK singles chart

DAVID Bowie's dramatic comeback track Where Are We Now continues to be excluded from the UK Top 40, although a best of album has returned to the album chart.

The song does not register anywhere in the midweek chart because regulations exclude any sales of tracks linked to the pre-order of albums, as is the case with Where Are We Now.

Although it has sold copies independent of the deal, iTunes, which has the exclusive sale rights to the song, has not yet provided a breakdown of sales to the Official Charts Company.

However, Best Of Bowie has risen from 194 to 25 in the charts, while The Platinum Collection re-appears at 142.

If the Bowie exclusion continues, the UK top 10 this weekend is likely to include will.i.am ft Britney Spears, Taylor Swift, James Arthur, Rihanna, and Bruno Mars.

Emeli Sande looks as though her Our Version Of Events may rise to the top of the album chart again with Calvin Harris and Jake Bugg also vying for top spot.

The Lumineers could also register their first top 10 album with their eponymous release.
