Jonathan
Chapman (vocals).
Where
are you from?
Bethnal
Green, East London.
Name
of band:
Cross
Wires.
Who
else is in your band?
Peter
Muller (guitar/vocals), Pete 'Pablo' Letch (bass) and Ian Clarke
(drums).
How
would you describe yourselves?
Strange
pop songs played with punk spirit. High energy live performances.
Who
are your main influences musically?
Blur,
Buzzcocks, The Clash, Joy Division, Gang Of Four, Wire...
What
do you hope to achieve in music?
There
has never been any grand plan, we just wanted to make music that we
would want to buy and I think we have achieved that. Saying that if
anyone wants to throw a record deal our way we can talk.
What
has been the highlight of your career so far, and why?
Getting
radio play at home and abroad always gives us a buzz and blogs saying
good things about us is always nice. Gig wise I would say supporting
The Others at The Half Moon in Putney was my favourite because we
absolutely smashed it that night. Great venue.
And
what’s the moment you want to forget?
Our
gig at the New Cross Inn....nothing worked (not their fault) two
songs and we were done. Cringe.
If
you could choose one of your songs as an advert for your music, what
would it be and why?
They
all sound so different from each over. We don't really have a sound
but they always have that Cross Wires feel if that makes sense. I'd
say Don't Go Surfing if pushed because that's the song that's got the
most attention. Funny really as it was written in about 10 mins as a
bit of a joke.
Where
can we listen to it?

Anything
else you’d like to say about your band that I forgot to ask?
We
are currently working on new songs that will become a EP/Mini album
and will be playing live again from spring/summer. Keep your eyes on
our twitter and Facebook. Thanks for your time.
