How would you describe
yourselves?
A back to basics rock n roll band. Music is constantly changing and evolving, which can only be a good thing, and the rapidity at which that's been happening over the last decade or so is startling. There really isn't such a thing as a clean cut genre any more. There are so many fusions, blends and hybrids that to label anything these days seems irrelevant. However the music that all four of us get most excited about is guitar music. It's what we listen to most and it's the music we like to play. For us nothing can beat live drums, bass, guitar and vocals.

Who are your main
influences musically?
This is the nice thing about us. Although we all love guitar based music, again, it's not limited to one particular style or sound. Mark our drummer is a true 80s new wave lover. Not a day passes when he doesn't mention Duran Duran. And, if a word is said against them, he'll break your face. Our bassist Ben is and always will be a metal head - anything from Rage Against The Machine to Machine Head. Sam our guitarist waves that classic rock flag high; The Beatles, The Rolling Stones. And Dave our singer loves all things mellow; Bon Iver being a recent obsession. Having said that, to limit our tastes purely to guitar music would be wrong. Between us I think we have a hugely eclectic taste that ranges from The Beastie Boys to The Prodigy. We're first and foremost music lovers.

What do you hope to
achieve in music?
I mean what band doesn't want to make it big? HeadliningGlastonbury ,
selling millions of albums worldwide. For a rock band, it can't get any better
than that. But at this stage it's as exciting to think about just being in a
position where we can make a good living from doing what we love. Look at bands
like Yuck or Tribes. Great bands making great music, and although they may not
be in a position to do a big headlining arena tour yet, both of them are doing
brilliantly well, and that's where we'd like to see ourselves.

What has been the
highlight of your career so far, and why?
Our biggest gig which was at the Clapham Grand in July 2012. Big stage, big crowd and got to play with some great bands. Just an awesome night, and a small taste of what being rock stars feels like. Except we couldn't finish our f**king set cos the band before took too long. We don't talk to them anymore.

And what’s the moment you
want to forget?
We played a wedding in that same year. And probably best we don't say any more than that. We made a lot of enemies that night. Our cover of Valerie wasn't too bad though, so you know, every cloud…

If you could choose one
of your songs as an advert for your music, what would it be and why?
TheRiverside .
It's the one that we all love playing the most, and I think it showcases us
well. Heartfelt lyrics with soaring vocals, driving bass lines, crashing drums,
punchy guitars and a killer solo; but all done with a lot of soul. It moves
from genuinely haunting moments to blood pumping crescendos. For now it's
definitely 'that song', the one people remember when they hear it.
