Mud: The Far Curse Q&A

Your name:
Damon Towndrow.

Where are you from?
Me, Jit and Joe are from North London, and Dave is from Lerwick, Shetland.

Name of band:
Mud: The Far Curse  (M:TFC).

Who else is in your band?
There's Joe Mollett on vocals, Jit Gohil on bass, Dave Massey on drums.

How would you describe yourselves?
A very loud desert grunge four-piece from London.

Who are your main influences musically?
Kyuss, RATM, Metallica, Sleep, Opeth, Electric Wizard, Slo Burn, Orange Goblin, Down, Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Guns n Roses.

What do you hope to achieve in music?
To create some great music that can be enjoyed by people other than us. We'd like to tour with a band we love and respect; that would be it for us.

What has been the highlight of your career so far, and why?
When we landed our drummer, Dave, suddenly we became a band who could actually play rather than three drunk and stoned guys, who wrote some cool songs.

And what’s the moment you want to forget?
We planned a recording session with a studio in East London, woke up so early to leave, and got cancelled on half way through the journey.

If you could choose one of your songs as an advert for your music, what would it be and why?
I would have to say that choosing one is impossible, as the album is set out in a way that takes you on an epic voyage. Start with track one and see what happens.

Where can we listen to your music?

Where can we find out more about your music?

Anything else you’d like to say about your band that I forgot to ask?
The first album is Air To Lead, and is in the final stages of recording. Keep an eye out for us in 2013.
