The Cottonettes Q&A

Your name:
Josh.

Where are you from?
Oddly a hard question because we’re a three-piece from different neighbouring towns. We are from Fleet, Guildford and Basingstoke.

Name of band:
The Cottonettes.

Who else is in your band?
There is Ben, who is the principle song writer, and Marty, who loves to party.

How would you describe yourselves?
Pop songs with a punk flavour that will get stuck in your head like a penny flung off the Eiffel tower.

Who are your main influences musically?
The Clash, The Jam, Graham Coxon, The Cure, The Vaccines.

What do you hope to achieve in music?
Commercial success! (BOOOOOOOOOO SELL OUTSSSS!)

What has been the highlight of your career so far, and why?
So far it has been supporting The Virginmarys at The West End Centre in Aldershot. It’s a venue we grew up going to.

And what’s the moment you want to forget?
When Ben puts his foot in it live. Like getting the headliner's band name wrong, or when a group of girls left during our set he asked "is the pretty one staying?".

If you could choose one of your songs as an advert for your music, what would it be and why?
Probably Party's over for one of those alcoseltzer hangover cure ads. After a night of Partying, which Marty is an expert in, you wake up with a stinking hang over.

Where can we listen to it?

Where can we find out more about your music?

Anything else you’d like to say about your band that I forgot to ask?
We hope you take the time to listen to us who ever you may be. We're a 100% independent band, which is said a lot by bands but we have no industry friends, no rich parents to pay for a PR agent everything we have achieved is through our own hard work and all that would have been in vane if it wasn't for people taking a chance on us.
