Laugh At The Fakes Q&A

Your name:
Everett Mason.

Where are you from?
Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Name of band:
Laugh At The Fakes.

Who else is in your band?
Galen (Bass), Erik (Guitar), Julian (Drums).

How would you describe yourselves?
Four bacon eating, beer drinking, nacho chewing dudes who are hungry for success in the world of music.

Who are your main influences musically?
We are a hard rock band that is influenced by both rock and metal bands. Some of our favorites are Iron Maiden, Alice In Chains, Black Sabbath, Pantera, and Led Zeppelin.

What do you hope to achieve in music?
We want to do this as a career. We eat, sleep, and breathe music, so everything else’s comes second to music. Right now we all work day jobs, so it’s tough finding enough time to rehearse and promote, but we need to fund our next album somehow. It is a lot of hard work and time management, but we have confidence that our goal is achievable. We believe in ourselves and are very excited about the new material we are writing.

What has been the highlight of your career so far, and why?
The highlight has to be our debut EP “One Night Only.” Personally, as the songwriter, I am most proud of the material on that album.

And what’s the moment you want to forget?
I’m in a good mood, so we’ll skip that one.

If you could choose just one of your songs to represent your music, what would it be and why?
That’s a tough question because we really pride ourselves on being a band with a solid material from top to bottom. I have never really been a fan of one hit wonders. Growing up I always listened to albums from start to finish, so just listening to one song from a band is an injustice to all the work they put into the vibe of an album. With that said, if I only have time to show people one of our songs it would probably be “Blinded.” I think it captures our sense of melody and heaviness at the same time. However, our EP is just 6 songs, so I urge everyone to listen to the whole thing.

Where can we listen to it?
There are a few. The easiest place to stream our stuff is on reverbnation or youtube.

Where can we find out more about your music?
Here we go

Anything else you’d like to say about your band that I forgot to ask?
Spread the word and Laugh At The Fakes. We have a new album on the horizon, so the journey is just beginning.
