Rum Punch Q&A

Your name:
Britt Couch (Vocals).

Where are you from?
Dallas, Texas, USA.

Name of band:
Rum Punch.

Who else is in your band?
Jake Fincher (Drums), Ben Drewes (Guitars, Vocals), Daniel Orcutt (Guitars, Vocals), Bobby Austin (Bass).

How would you describe yourselves?
Easy going hippie musicians who like every other musician wanna make an impact and turn some heads while doing it.

Who are your main influences musically?
TOOL, The Germs, The Misfits, The Hives, The Strokes, Avenged Sevenfold, The Sex Pistols, Spoon, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, August Burns Red, just to name a few.

What do you hope to achieve in music?
To get people to realize that the crap you hear on the rock stations today isn't rock, it's wanna be indie pop hipster electronica bull shit! We want to start a new movement of rock that takes the people back to the routes of original jam band rock, a guitar, a bass, vocals, and drums, that's it. We wanna make people wanna move at a live concert not sit down and listen. We want them to lose control in our tunes and for five minutes forget about their jobs, money problems, family issues. We want these genres of rock today to become a thing of the past and Rum Punch to become a thing of the present and future.

What has been the highlight of your career so far, and why?
We were asked to play a show that was being hosted by Bam Margera of Jackass. That was really cool being hosted onto stage by him, meeting Bam and hanging out with him. It was a big deal for us because we all watched his shows growing up.

And what’s the moment you want to forget?
Being so drunk at a show that we screwed up every song, and were cut off half way through our set and actually broke one of the spot lights above us by throwing a guitar at it.

If you could choose one of your songs as an advert for your music, what would it be and why?
Cadaver Down, it has all of our influences and skills in one song, its progressive, but simple enough to show you that we all bring something to the table and its creepy and catchy too.

Where can we listen to it?

Where can we find out more about your music?
