Doug McKay.
Where are you from?
Winnipeg, Canada.
Name of band:
The Twilights.
Who is in your band?
Rick
Roschuk (singer), Ally Ryback (singer), Ed Burnett (drums, vocals), Doug McKay
(keys, vocals), Frank Piske (guitar, vocals), Warren Weldon (sax, vocals),
Johnny Moore (bass, vocals).
How would you describe yourselves?
A 50s &
60s rockingly fun group that relives the oldies, but goodies, from the 50s
& 60s!
Who are your main influences musically?
Roy
Orbison, Johnny Rivers, The Platters, Buddy Holly, Sam Cooke, Connie Francis,
Patsy Cline, Dean Martin, Everly Brothers, and many more!
What do you hope to achieve in music?
To play for
as many people as we can, to entertain our audiences, and bring smiles to their
faces as we share the journey down memory lane!
What has been the highlight of your career so far, and
why?
We played in front of nearly 30,000 people during a professional
sports game (north american 'football' game) at a halftime show.
And what’s the moment you want to forget?
Many
moments with our 'former' ex-lead singer (who stole money from us! And he had a
sinus problem!).
If you had to pick just one of your songs to represent
your music, what would it be and why?
Secret Agent Man - mainly because we're
kinda mysterious, secretive, and mostly men (except for our female singer, of
course!).
Where can we listen to it?
Where can we find out more about your music?
Anything else you’d like to say about your band/music
that I forgot to ask?
Yes, we're just humbled Canadians that love music and
wish to share that passion with as many people as possible! Cheers! : )
