Chad.
Where are you
from?
Washington,
DC.
Name of band:
Stone
Driver
Who is in
your band?
Rich Whitcomb on drums, Tim Boyer on bass and
vocals, Chad Lesch on lead guitar and atmospherics.
How would you
describe yourselves?
Somewhere between psychedelic grunge and space rock.
Who are your
main influences musically?
Pearl Jam, Jimi Hendrix, Tool, Queens of the
Stone Age, Pink Floyd
What do you hope
to achieve in music?
To create something new and relevant that we can
be proud of as musicians, while still finding a connection with the
audience that can weather the test of time.
What has been
the highlight of your career so far, and why?
Linking up with Rich and Tim has been
the highlight; when you connect musically with the right group of
cats and "click" you know it, it's one of the greatest feelings in
the world for musicians. Next to that I'd say getting our first two
singles produced and published.
And what’s the
moment you want to forget?
Once auditioned a drummer (not Rich)
who pulled out a real pirate sword at practice and waved it in
the air in a drunken stupor, sharing that it was the means in which he
resolved differences of opinion with his prior guitarist. That was
unique, but fortunately Rich has kept all of his cutlery in the
kitchen thus far.
If you had to
pick just one of your songs to represent your music, what would it be and why?
I'm going to cheat and
pick two; "Clean Slate" has some strong grunge
and Hendrix influences, while "Prism" really captures
our space rock vibe.
Where can we
listen to it?
Where can we
find out more about your music?
Anything else
you’d like to say about your band/music that I forgot to ask?
Expect some new material to
be released shortly; we've been hitting the WDC gig scene hard but
are looking forward to getting back in the studio. Thanks to our fans and
friends for their continued support!
