The Inkhearts.
Where are you from?
Skelmersdale, England.
Who is in your band?
Lauren Shaw - Vocals/Guitar. Ryan Ward - Guitar, Ben
Warburton - Bass, Matthew Wright - Drums.
How would you describe yourselves?
Indie-pop, quick, catchy, upbeat music.
Who are your main influences musically?
We really love Two Door Cinema Club, Arctic Monkeys, The Vaccines and The
Libertines, and this is probably reflected in our music.
What do you hope to achieve in music?
At the moment we just enjoy playing music together and entertaining people when
we play at venues, so I guess at the moment we just want to have fun (although
playing at a major festival would be pretty awesome!).
What has been the highlight of your career so far, and
why?
Playing at the Liverpool Sound City Festival this year for Edge Hill Universitys' The Label was
awesome, we got a load of publicity from the gig and everybody there (the venue
was full!) seemed to really like our music, which was a major plus for us.
And what’s the moment you want to forget?
Playing in front of two people in Hoylake, a bass amp
switched off without realisation until half way through a set and a unscheduled
toilet break during a gig!
If you had to pick just one of your songs to represent
your music, what would it be and why?
'Keeping Up' - it's our main song and our first proper
single, the first one we wrote as a four-piece, so it does also have some
sentimental value. It's also the song 'The Label' helped record and promote,
and they did a really good job; they're music video for it is awesome too!
Where can we listen to it?
Where can we find out more about your music?
Anything else you’d like to say that I forgot to ask?
We are currently taking a break whilst we take our A levels/holidays,
but will be back with a bang in September with a new single and plenty of gigs!
