Where are you from?
Passau, Germany.
Name of band:
the Sales.
Who else is in your band?
André Braumandl
(bass), Michael Bruckner (lead guitar), Kai Stadler (drums).
How would you describe yourselves?
We're an indie
band, we make indie/alternative/garage/post-punk music, but we try to
incorporate other genres as well.
Who are your main influences musically?
The Strokes,
Arctic Monkeys, The Libertines are probably our most predominant, basic
influences.
What do you hope to achieve in music?
We want to
create something unique as far as that's possible. Maybe we also want to leave
a mark or something, but it all comes down to the point that we just want to
make music. It's what we love and what we do best.
What has been the highlight of your career so far, and why?
In 2013 we went
to Berlin for some recording sessions. The results are the recordings of our
songs 'No Mas' and 'Coffee & Cigarettes'. We had a lot of fun doing that,
as we had the chance to use some pretty rad recording equipment and it was a
great experience.
And what's the moment you want to forget?
Driving to
Berlin in a small bus (in which we could get all our instruments and the
drumset), well, we got a little drunk. And our drummer somehow manged to get
some pieces of duct tape into the singers hair. That was pretty painful. Also
kind of funny, but first and foremost, it was painful.
If you had to pick just one of your songs to represent your music, what would it be and why?
That's a little
hard to say. Our songs are all different in some way, so it's hard to find one
that can represent all of them. But if we had to pick one, we'd go with 'No
Mas' because it includes most of our influences.
Where can we
listen to it?
Where can we
