Your name: 
My name is Will Fujita. I am the violin/bass/sax/keys guy for the group. Jack Gallo is our lead singer and plays guitar. George Copley is our lead guitar player and plays bass as well. Kieran Burns is our drummer.

Where are you from? 
All four of us go to Providence College. Jack, George, and I are seniors and Kieran is a sophomore. I'm from Long Island, Jack is from Chicago, George is from Connecticut (although he was actually born in England too), and Kieran is from Buffalo.

A Day at the Zoo.

How would you describe yourselves and your music?
I would describe our personalities as your stereotypical college students with a passion for sports, video games, and music of course. Our music is reflective of the fact that we all listen to different genre's and come from completely different backgrounds. 

Who are your main influences musically? 
Personally, my main influences are Dave Brubeck, Antonio Vivaldi, Lindsey Stirling, and anything Levon Helm/The Band related. We all listen to a good amount of alternative/classic rock, jazz, and folk music.

What do you hope to achieve in music? 
We all love being able to create and tell stories through our music. We hope to achieve success and a fan base through our creativity and passion. 

What has been the highlight of your career so far, and why?

Our first organized event, we played in the basement of an off-campus house for Providence College students. The entire house was packed to capacity, so much so that it took 25 minutes to get from the bottom step of the basement to the top (an extreme fire hazard in hindsight). 

And what’s the moment you want to forget? 
I think that there isn't any moment that we would want to forget as a group. Everything to date has been a learning experience and we've treated each experience as such. 

If you had to pick just one of your songs to represent your music, what would it be and why?
If you listen to our EP, each song has it's own style. No two songs sound remotely similar, which was our intention when creating the project. We want our listeners to hear our influences and our capability to play in many different styles. The first song, "Give Me a Chance", is an upbeat rock number that reflects the influence of guys like Franz Ferdinand. The second song, "Wish I Would", is a 90's alternative rock number that reflects the influence of groups like Blink 182 and Weezer. The third song, "Hand in Hand", is a ballad that mixes a ballad style with the guitar effects reflecting groups like Incubus. The fourth song, "Walk Into Your Heart", demonstrates our jazz influences because we put a real emphasis on articulation. And the fifth song, "Fish on a Hook", reflects our blues/folk/southern rock influences (The Band).

How would you describe yourself and your music?

My motto in life is "Go big or go home" and I never ever go home. My music is fun and wild just like me!!!

Who are your main influences musically?

Some of my biggest influences would be Iggy Azalea and Nicki Minaj because I love the sound and quality of there voice. Especially the fact when you hear one of there songs you can immediately recognize there voice because they don't sound like anyone else which I love. I also like Eminem,he is my all time favorite rapper. A reason why is because he is so bold in what he says and never holds anything back.

What do you hope to achieve in music?

I hope to achieve in music to record some new songs and get them out to the public and enjoy every moment of my journey. My goal is to keep working hard and never give up on my dream until I walk the RED CARPET being a STAR!!!

What has been the highlight of your career so far, and why?

I love being on the stage performing and entertaining for people. My daddy has always said I have a smile that can light up a room and a charisma and charm that wins over the audience every time.When I see someone smile after I perform I feel that I succeeded my goal which was to entertain the audience and that is what I love the most to put a smile on people's faces.

If you had to pick just one of your songs to represent your music, what would it be and why?

The song “Pretty Girl” is just a all around fun song to listen to and to dance too. The back round of the song is to promote the fact that every girl in the world is PRETTY and every girl should be proud to scream and shout it out loud that they are PRETTY and to boost girls confidence in today's society.

Anything else you’d like to say about your music that I forgot to ask?

At the end of the day music is my true passion that I love so much. I originally started training in classical music singing opera at the age of 13 but as time went on I grew to enjoy and love rap and hip-hop. I love rap the best because you can tell a story to hear threw your lyrics that can relate to everyday life.I just really want to be able to share my life stories threw the music I make and make people SMILE and Dance ... Just me.

How would you describe yourselves? 

I tend to describe it as DIY lo-fi indie rock that's influenced by dreampop, shoegaze and psychedelic pop and rock.  I've also seen it tagged as shoegazer pop and I would agree with that.

Who are your main influences musically?  

Gary Numan is a huge influence in terms of achieving guitar-like tones from a synth/keyboard and Daniel Johnston and Flying Saucer Attack are huge in terms of writing and recording at home and all 3 musically as well. I draw a lot of inspiration from The Jesus & Mary Chain, My Bloody Valentine, Cocteau Twins, The Cure, Mercury Rev, The Summer Hits, the list is really quite long.

What do you hope to achieve in music?  

I just really want to have fun creating what I love and hopefully what other people can get into and really anything else that comes along with it is just an added bonus.

What has been the highlight of your career so far, and why?  

Getting some internet radio play has been pretty cool, especially having my track played after a legend like Lou Reed. But really just anyone genuinely enjoying something that I've created is really cool.

And what’s the moment you want to forget?  

I had to change the name of this project recently because of a band with a very similar name and that kind of sucked.

If you had to pick just one of your songs to represent your music, what would it be and why?  

Hard to say because I like to take a different approach with each one but maybe Burn Out Bright as it has some synth/indiepop, psychedelic, and dreampop aspects all rolled into it.

Spruke is my name and my main act.

How would you describe yourself?

Spruke is bright, shiny synthpop with light influences of dubstep, chiptunes, 8-bit music, video game music, and industrial. The feel is drowning in lush, warm synths even as the lyrics on top of that are introspective and depressive. There's also definitely a bit of "geek chic" running throughout; there are easter eggs for nerds and gamers hidden invisibly in the lyrics of almost every song.

Who are your main influences musically?

I'm probably most musically influenced by Nine Inch Nails, although I'm far less harsh; vocally & lyrically I am frequently told I am reminiscent of Depeche Mode and the Faint.

What do you hope to achieve in music?

The songs have ever been there as my main hobby, no matter what, and all I've really ever wanted is for them to be heard. I've always been writing melodies, lyrics, beats, since I was a child. I did it back when nobody ever heard them but me and I'm still doing it today, and the only difference today is that when I write a track, ten thousand people can hear it before I go to bed. If anything that just makes me write more, and harder. You know, with authors, you get these... I
mean, Snooki has a book, right? Ghostwritten? And you know that it would not exist if there were not people who would want to read it. Nobody would bother to write something that they think nobody will ever read. But then there's, you know, there's Emily Dickinson, made the beautiful poetry never expecting another soul to set eyes on it, just for herself... I make it today the same as I ever have. It would be there whether the listeners are or not. But all I really wanted is for it to be heard so it gives extra meaning to this thing I'm going to be spending my whole life doing anyway.
Fame and fortune can suck it. I need enough fame that a few dozen people can write me back and warm my heart and say, man, Spruke, that last song really spoke to me and changed how I thought, and enough fortune that I can eat. The rest can take a hike.

What has been the highlight of your career so far, and why?

Probably watching as the "iconic" Spruke song, "Eighty Above or Twenty Below", unlocked all kinds of significant achievements for being an important song in listeners' lives. People have written me telling me that they'e used that song for graduations, funerals, birthdays, dissertations, everything. I couldn't give a shit for "the highlight of my career" being such-or-other show or thing I did or I got to experience. It's about when I hear how I'm influencing the lives of the others.

And what’s the moment you want to forget?

Once, I acted like a hater. Never again!

If you had to choose just one of your songs to represent your music, what would it be and why?

"Bad News" is a three-part track that represents everything Spruke is capable of doing; it's like every kind of song I can write all rolled into one. Orchestral, synth-heavy, rock elements, industrial, dubstep, signature Spruke-style vocals, it's all in there. It's even got Laura Grace in it!
