Arctic Monkeys see three-fold spike on Spotify

TRIUMPHANT sets at last weekend's Glastonbury Festival have seen a huge spike in streaming for leading bands on Spotify.

Arctic Monkeys were the big winners with a 329 per cent increase in streams following from their headline performance on the Pyramid Stage last Friday.

Chic featuring Nile Rodgers’ disco heavy set on the West Holts stage on Friday saw streams of the bands biggest hits rocket by 260 per cent, with Spotify users turning to the service to listen to their greatest hits which include, I Want Your Love, Le Freak and Everybody Dance.

Public Enemy were next on the list with streaming up 148 per cent, followed by The Rolling Stones at 125 per cent.

Portishead, Dizzee Rascal and Hurts also benefited.

Spotify has since put together a Glastonbury playlist, which you can check out below.

New video from Hurts



THIS is the new video from Hurts.

Somebody To Die For is the follow up to singles Miracle and Blind from second album Exile.

The synthpop duo will be playing a home-town gig at Manchester's Apollo on Friday, October 25th, as well as a sold out show at London's Troxy the following night.

HURTS have unveiled the video for their new single Miracle.

The track, which you can play above, is due out on March 10th with their much-anticipated second album Exile out the day after.

La Roux, Miles Kane join Benicàssim bill



TWENTY new bands have been confirmed for Benicàssim 2013.

La Roux (above), Miles Kane, Everything Everything and Woodkid all join the line up along with the likes of Le Carousel, Childhood, Christian Smith and Chvrches, among others.

They join what is one of the strongest line ups in the Spanish festival's history with The Killers, Queens Of The Stone Age, Arctic Monkeys, Dizzee Rascal, Jake Bugg and the Hurts already confirmed.
  
FIB 2013 will be held in Benicàssim's concert venue on July 18th, 19th, 20th and 21st.

Hurts premiere new video ahead of album launch




THE first video from Hurts’ much anticipated second album ‘Exile’ was unveiled through their social networks this morning.

‘Miracle’ received its first worldwide radio play on Huw Stephens show when he covered the Radio 1 breakfast show in the UK in early January, while his station-mate Zane Lowe described it as 'quality songwriting, brilliant production, really confident'.

‘Exile’, the band's follow-up album to their 2010 debut ‘Happiness’, can now be pre-ordered from iTunes, Amazon, Play and HMV.com, with ‘The Road’ available as an instant free track for any orders through iTunes.
