Palms Vincent Q&A

Your name:
Jordan.

Where are you from?
Swindon, Wiltshire, UK.

Name of band:
Palms Vincent.

How would you describe yourself?
Beatific pop with hints of psychedelia and Motown.

Who are your main influences musically?
The Doors, Tame Impala, The Beatles and Chic.

What do you hope to achieve in music?
There are a lot of things I’d like to achieve, without sounding ridiculously cheesy. But I would die happily if we won either a Mercury Prize award or an Ivor Novello award.

What has been the highlight of your career so far, and why?
The acceptance and appreciation of the first demo and the praise and feedback it's received so far.

And what’s the moment you want to forget?
We have no regrets yet.

If you had to pick just one of your songs to represent your music, what would it be and why?
Get Together because its got all of our influences mixed amongst it.

Where can we listen to it?
www.soundcloud.com/palms-vincent

Where can we find out more about your music?
Anything else you’d like to say that I forgot to ask?
Palms Vincent is my solo project but i have featuring musicians that play on the tracks. Keep refreshing our Soundcloud for new numbers.

Optimal Prime Q&A

Your name:
Maxi Scattergood.

Where are you from?
Swindon, Wiltshire, UK.

Name of band:
Optimal Prime.

Who else is in your band?
Gary Griffin - Guitar, Dave Housley, Guitar, Joe Wild - Bass, Tom Ross - Drums (and myself on vocals).

How would you describe yourselves?
We are a progressive-heavy rock band with some metal thrown in for good measure.

Who are your main influences musically?
We have a lot of influences; Rush, Opeth, Dream Theater, Yes. But individually, we have tastes from Metal through to Classic Rock, Prog, Jazz, Blues and even classical.

What do you hope to achieve in music?
To be honest, we probably wouldn't get considered to be signed, but we would love to be recognised for doing something different to the "norm" and that we can get our EPs out there and gig as much as possible.

What has been the highlight of your career so far, and why?
So far we have been blessed with our gigs, we may not been going long, but we have supported Lord Bishop and Steve Grimmett's Grim Reaper. Plus we have gigged at Riffs Bar who have won 'Music Venue of the Year' twice in recent years. Like I said, we may not have been going long, but we have done it in style lol

And what’s the moment you want to forget?
Can't honestly say that we've had one of those yet... (wipes brow)

If you could choose just one of your songs to represent your music, what would it be and why?
This would have to be our 4-in-1 piece 'Psi War'. It was written by Gary and sums up what we do - it is a set of four songs (Flaming Telepaths, Psi Corps, War and Fractured) and tells a story of a 'Telepath War' - a bit geeky, but that's how we roll... Musically, it covers ballard tempo to metal double bass drumming and vocally it covers soft female vocals to hard male vocals with some affects thrown in too. We're hoping to record this as a live piece soon so watch this space :)

Where can we listen to it?
Sadly we are still working on recording our EP and don't have anything together yet that the quality is good enough to put out there, but we are working on this and you'll be the first to know when its available ;)

Where can we find out more about your music?
We can be found on Facebook under Optimal Prime (pages) look for a grey/black logo and also on Twitter - everything links from our Facebook and all details there - if anyone would like to book us, please email the page and I'll get back to them asap.

Anything else you’d like to say about your band that I forgot to ask?
Yes, you forgot to ask if we are awesome - and to answer in the words of our drummer, "Are we awesome? We created Awesome!" ;)

Burnthru Q&A

Band name:
Burnthru.

Where are you from?
Wiltshire, UK (Devizes & Swindon).

Who else is in your band?
Andy Mitchell - Vocals.
Mitch Underwood - Guitar.
Elmo Jones - Bass.
Chris Constable - Drums.

How would you describe yourselves?
Hard-rock, with a mix of grunge… bordering on metal!

Who are your main influences musically?
Tool, Nirvana, Black Sabbath, Ozzy, Pantera.

What do you hope to achieve in music?
To play to as many people, and as many places as humanly possible!

What has been the highlight of your career so far, and why?
Recently, we played a great show at The Dublin Castle in Camden. We all really enjoyed playing to a new crowd! We're also working with Steve Grimmett (from 80's legend, Grim Reaper) on our new album. He's producing it and we're all learning a lot from working with him.

And what’s the moment you want to forget?
During our first show, Mitch stumbled on the only stage light and smashed it - leaving us to play in near darkness! Or when we played a small outdoor festival in Hampshire and Elmo blew up the venue's home made amp!

If you could choose just one of your songs to represent your music, what would it be and why?
From our EP it will have to be √ (tick)… it's got a bit of everything! But from our latest songs we have a song called 'Faithless' which we think shows exactly who we are! It'll be available soon on our new album!

Where can we listen to it?

Your name:
Louis (Lead Guitar).

Where are you from?
Swindon, England.

Name of band:
With Ghosts.

Who else is in your band?
Nathan (vocals/guitar), Ben (Bass) and Liam (drums).

How would you describe yourselves?
We are a four-piece pop rock/punk band from Swindon. We formed Early 2012 and have since shared the stage with bands such as Don Broco, Fearless Vampire Killers and Decade. In September we recorded our debut single ‘On My Own’ with Matt O'Grady (You Me At Six, Deaf Havana) and went on to film a music video for it. We are back in the studio Feb 2013.

Who are your main influences musically?
Deaf Havana, Young Guns, You Me At Six, Dangerous Summer.

What do you hope to achieve in music?
We hope to take this band as far as we can; we look forward to gigging and one day touring. We enjoy our time in the studio and want to carry on with our music as a full time job.

What has been the highlight of your career so far, and why?
The highlight so far was recording and making a video for On My Own and getting to see the end product of a lot of hard work.

And what’s the moment you want to forget?
We once travelled for hours to show with all our equipment and played to about five people.

If you could choose one of your songs as an advert for your music, what would it be and why?
A song we wrote not long ago, that doesn't have a name yet, because it is very upbeat happy and has a great groove.

Where can we listen to it?
