New live track from The Trend

GRUNGE rockers The Trend have released a live version of their track We're Not Gunna Be Seen.

The track was written by the Sudbury, Suffolk, band's bassist Fenton Brett.

He told RealSoundsOK: "I like how the illusive dark visions of the dreary riff played on bass guitar that runs through the songs body coupled with the sharp powerful and electric riff played by the guitar, complimenting each other perfectly.

"I also like how the verses are unorthodox. The lyrics aren't meaningful in this one its just a few line to growl and what for the drop and instruments to take effect. "

Drummer Connor Hume added: "We didn't want to write a song that follows a formula, we tried to make it different structurally and make a memorable guitar riff that fits with the lyrics."

Who else is in your band?

Fenton Brett (bass & vocals) and Connor Hume (drums).

How would you describe yourselves?

I would class as a rock band however we have been told that our sound is naturally grunge so possibly a combo of grunge rock and a little bit of punk.

What do you hope to achieve in music?

We are just three mates having a laugh while in a band anything else is a bonus.

What has been the highlight of your career so far, and why?

Highlight so far has to be when we played Chinnerys in Southend last Friday.

And what’s the moment you want to forget?

Probably a gig we did at Three Wise Monkeys in Colchester. We played terribly.

If you had to pick just one of your songs to represent your music, what would it be and why?

One song to represent us would be Ten Pence Shy as it is fast and rocky and great fun to play.

Who else is in your band?Ryan Malone (lead vocals, guitar), Sean Kerr (bass, backing vocals) and John Brown (drums).

How would you describe yourselves?Straight up, no gimmicks rock n roll.

Who are your main influences musically? 
90s Britpop and classic British rock n roll such as The Clash, The Jam, Primal Scream.

What do you hope to achieve in music?
To keep playing for as long as venues/promoters will book us. Would love to play one of the major festivals and eventually put an album out.

What has been the highlight of your career so far, and why? 
Supporting tribute band The Complete Stone Roses in front of a packed out O2 ABC Arena in 2013. During the years of the Stone Roses hiatus, the Complete's were the only chance to see the Roses stuff being played live and they are the best cover band of the best band! And what’s the moment you want to forget? 
We've always had a good laugh and enjoyed every gig but there are one or two early ones that performance wise would be best forgotten about, usually due to one or all of us being too drunk to play properly but we've started taking it a bit more seriously since the gigs have started to get bigger and better! 

If you had to pick just one of your songs to represent your music, what would it be and why? 
We open up most of our gigs with Act of God because we feel the opening lines kind of define us. It's a kind of in your face song.
