Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Who is in your band? 

Richard, with Jack, Chris, Terry & Val live.

How would you describe yourselves?  

Melodic punk rock.

Who are your main influences musically?

BROOMFILLER have been compared to Foo Fighters holding hands with Bracket while sitting on a park bench made by Jawboxx and Husker Du, eating a sandwich made by Bad Religion and Face to Face.

What do you hope to achieve in music?  

Connect with people.

What has been the highlight of your career so far, and why?

Playing a packed 1700 seat venue - The Grove, in Anaheim, CA.

If you had to pick just one of your songs to represent your music, what would it be and why?

How Long, So Long - it represents (lyrically and musically) what I've been going through over the last year, losing both my parents and trying to cope.

The Human Project take on football's thugs

MELODIC punks The Human Project have released a video for The Beautiful Shame.

The track - taken from debut album Origins - reflects the Leeds band's displeasure around the mindless minority of football fans.

Guitarist Luke Yates told RealSoundsOK: "We wrote The Beautiful Shame as a cry of despair at the bigoted, racist thugs who still - in 2015 - manage to somehow ruin a nice day out for everyone else and are genuinely dangerous to the safety of totally innocent people, who simply want to see a game of football.

"It mainly questions who is to blame for allowing this macho bullshit to continue and suggests that the powers that be within the sport and with the police often fail to draw the line where friendly rivalry ends and violent thuggery, blatant racism and, essentially, organised crime begins."

New video from Darko

MELODIC punks Darko have released the video for Timepieces and Lock Shaped Hearts - the latest track from their Sea Of Trees EP.

The video was shot during the Guildford band's recent tour.

Vocalist Dan Smith told RealSoundsOK: "The track was initially inspired by something I read about a guy who had dementia - when hearing the songs of his youth it kind of brought him out of it a little and made him happy.

"I started to wonder if my band and the songs I've written with those guys could perhaps ever have an impact like that, the idea being 'Timepieces' are the songs and the 'Lock Shaped Hearts' are the memories that are brought about by hearing the songs."

Darko are in the studio writing for their next record, out later this year, and also have a huge amount of live dates coming up - starting at the Manchester Punk Festival in April.
