Crestillion Q&A

Your name:
Kitcha (drums).

Where are you from?
Stockholm, Sweden.

Name of band?
Crestillion.

Who else is in your band?
Petri Valentin (vocals) and Lilo (guitar).

How would you describe yourselves?
We're influenced by both Japanese ‘visual kei’ bands and western pop punk bands. Besides that, we're musicians who love to create, laugh and live. We want to deliver 100 per cent of our music - no less - while at the same time being able to relax and be ourselves with the fans.

Who are your main influences musically?
We have many different influences, varying from Japanese bands like An Cafe and Ayabie, to western bands like Four Year Strong.

What do you hope to achieve in music?
Being able to affect people's lives to the better. I think the best feeling is when a fan tells us we've saved them from depression, or helped them moving on with life. If our songs can help people out that much, we're more than content.

What has been the highlight of your career so far, and why?
I think our greatest moment was in announcing Petri leaving his position as bassist, to become our lead vocalist instead. We had absolutely no idea how all the fans would react, but when we got flooded with comments about how much everyone supported Petri and our choice, and how much they looked forward to hearing our songs with his vocals, we were more excited than ever. This decision -was- a big one for us to make, so the impact it created felt really justified.

And what’s the moment you want to forget?
This is a tough one. I think the wackiest memory is the first time ever we auditioned a couple of guitarists. As we were getting ready, the rock 'n' roll band rehearsing next door approached us, started talking to one of the guys we tried to audition, and try to steal him away! And not as a guitarist, but a bassist… Luckily, he refused the offer haha.
It doesn't end here though. Many weeks later, we were really pumped up for our rehearsal, and as we were about to open the door, we heard a sound from within. We feared the worst, opened the door, and guess what - it was the very same band playing their rock 'n' roll songs in -our- rehearsal room! While we were busy being surprised, they casually looked at us and asked if we wanted to join them. And haha, no matter how much we want to, we can never really forget this moment.

If you could choose one of your songs as an advert for your music, what would it be and why?
We strongly believe in two of our songs that we've named Bittersweet Vanilla and One Last Miracle.

Where can we listen to it?
We haven't released any full songs with vocals yet, but they are our highest priority right now.

Where can we find out more about your music?
You can find our official Facebook page at:http://www.facebook.com/Crestillion
In addition, each of us have our own, personal twitter accounts:

Anything else you’d like to say about your band that I forgot to ask?
Though we haven't been around for long, we're amazed by the support we keep gaining. We all have high ambitions, but no matter how far we come it will always be thanks to our amazing fans. So we're really thankful for all of them, and wish each and every one of them to keep rocking on.
