IT is the opportunity of a lifetime for emerging unsigned artists - a slot on the main stage at the Glastonbury Festival.
Organisers of the famous fest are launching a competition tomorrow (Thursday) with that as the very prize.
Acts from the UK and Ireland from any musical genre can enter the Emerging Talent Competition 2013 and follow in the footsteps of the likes of Stornoway, We Have Band, the Golden Silvers, the Subways, Treetop Flyers and, ahem, Scouting For Girls.
To enter, bands must have one of their songs available online (via YouTube, SoundCloud, Bandcamp etc) and submissions can be made via the Glastonbury Festival website here.
Entries are free, but will be taken for one week only starting at 9am on Thursday, January 17, through to 5pm on Thursday, January 24.
Once the entries are in, a panel of 40 of the UK's best music bloggers will help compile a longlist of 120 acts. The longlist will then be whittled down to a shortlist of eight artists by judges including Glastonbury organisers Michael and Emily Eavis, before the live finals in Pilton in April decides the winning act.
Good luck!
