Danny Hughes.
Where are you from?
We are based in Leeds, England.
Name of band:
Carvella.
Who is in your band?
Tom Pritchard- Vocals/Guitar
Danny Hughes- Lead Guitar/Vocals
George Thomas- Drums
Nick Shedlon- Bass guitar
How would you describe yourselves?
We are a four piece rock and roll band.
Four good friends who share a love of music and most importantly making music
that we can put our name to. We have a fast growing fan base and we seem to be
getting plenty of interest in what we're doing at the minute. We all want to
achieve big things as a band and we have no doubt we can do it, its a matter of
time.
Who are your main influences musically?
We all have a
wide range of musical influences. All of us see different things in music but
when we bring them together thats where our sound comes from. Our
obvious influences are British Guitar bands like the Stones, Oasis,
The Roses, Arctic Monkeys etc... But I think what influences us the most are
bands that achieve greatness, bands who become timeless in their own
right. Everyone always seems to be on the look out for "the next big
thing". Thats what inspires us, a band that grabs peoples' attention
and makes a difference to how people feel about their own life. Thats what we
want to do.
What do you hope to achieve in music?
Greatness. Simple as that. We want to be "the next
big band", we want to fill stadiums and arenas with people singing their
hearts out to our songs. We have the ability to do that and its just a matter
of time for us to start turning heads. We just feel that if you aim for the top
and don't settle for anything less then eventually, you will get where you want
to be.
What has been the highlight of your career so far, and
why?
Its all been a highlight.
Just getting together and making music on a regular basis is what we're all
about and what we live for. We've played some great venues and supported some
really good bands, but we're
just getting started. We recently recorded some demos with Alan Smyth in at
2fly studios in Sheffield. He produced the Arctic Monkeys first album and has
also worked with some big names like Reverend and the Makers, RIchard Hawley
and Pulp. So that was pretty cool and we were really happy with the outcome.
And what’s the moment you want to forget?
Nothing yet. There may have been a few early gigs or recording that didn't go
as well as expected but its all part of the ride and all the mistakes you make
on the way have made us who we are as a band. We've still got loads more to
learn and we're very excited about what lies ahead for us, as there are
definitely exciting times ahead.
If you had to pick just one of your songs to represent
your music, what would it be and why?
Well we would have to pick our latest release "Shoot
The Moon". Its a demo for people to get an idea of what we're all about,
but its the only thing we've got out there at the minute so it makes sense to
say that one.

Anything else you’d like to say about your band/music
that I forgot to ask?
Just to keep an eye out for us. We have a gig coming up
at The Cockpit on Wednesday 16th April supporting a band from Dublin called
Raglans. They have been signed to Sony records and have just had their first
single released on Radio 1, so that should be a good gig.
We will be launching our website over the next couple of
weeks, as well as releasing a music video and theres plenty more songs to be
released as well. So follow us on Twitter, Like us on Facebook and just watch
out, as we have a very big summer ahead.
