your band?
Chris (drums, percussion), Tom (guitars).
How would you
describe yourselves?
I’m a singer-songwriter and former bass-player of various
punk- and alternative-rock-bands, blending my different influences and trying
to find a niche in the wide range of traditional and modern folk/ folk-rock
music.
Who are your main
influences musically?
I’m not sure about the main influences. Some artists that
inspire me are Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Woody Guthrie, Townes Van Zandt, Johnny
Cash, Social Distortion, Mike Ness, Tom Petty, Billy Bragg and Wilco, just to
name a few.
What do you hope
to achieve in music?
I don’t make music for the masses and I don’t intend to,
but there are positive responses concerning my music from people all over the
world. A small but loyal fan base that enables me to play as many gigs as I
want is a goal.
What has been the highlight
of your career so far, and why?
My first album Destination Unknown. After only
contributing songs and ideas on other band releases, this is the first album
with solely my own material. That makes me a little proud.
And what’s the
moment you want to forget?
There were a few, but I’ve forgotten them already;)
If you could
choose just one of your songs to represent your music, what would it be and
why?
Every song is important to me and I consider myself more
of an album than a single writer, so that’s a difficult question. ‘Ben’ might
be a good example for the combination of acoustic guitars, a
stomping groove and electric guitar riff plus the typical Ralf Dee story
telling. The new material will sound different again, though.

you’d like to say about your band that I forgot to ask?
I have plenty of new material and will hit the studio
with new guitar player Tom and drummer Chris in March to record the first
songs. In addition we will finally shoot a first video clip. I’m really looking
