Debut album on way from Melinda Ortner

LA singer-songwriter Melinda Ortner is releasing her debut album I Wanna Be OK later this month.

With a number of international tours under her belt already - including more than 50 dates in the UK - the Californian is already making a name for herself.

She said: "Piano was in and out of my life since age eight-ish and I kick myself every day for not practising more, but I get by. It's about the songwriting for me.”

Among her influences are Ella Fitzgerald, Keely Smith and Cole Porter and as she delved into writing, she also drew influences from The Beatles, Fiona Apple, Muse, Keane, and The Pixies, to name a few.

You can get a taste of her music below with the single Sweet Little Lies.
