Ian Alistair Gosbee Q&A

Your name:
Ian Alistair Gosbee.

Where are you from?

Halifax, Nova Scotia Canada.

Name of band:
Ian Alistair Gosbee.

Who else is in your band?
Generally just me.

How would you describe yourselves?
I generally describe myself as a open musician. I never pigeon hole myself to play one style of music. I love all sorts of music and sometimes been called cross over or blending of styles. I'm like one of those mixed berries drink.

Who are your main influences musically?
I was classically trained as a child and young adult but I listen to a lot of 80's and 90's music.  People say I'm a REM, 90's garage band, The Cure sounding type 'band'.  Lately I've been listening to Iron Maiden, and coffee house tunes.

What do you hope to achieve in music?
I don't really think about it. Music is my passion so I'm always going to be doing some form of it. I love that I'm building a fan base and getting radio airplay. I really like playing on stage as well.
One day at a time.

What has been the highlight of your career so far, and why?
Winning awards in songwriting and getting radio play has been a highlight. I remember in school, winning an award as 'best musician' and having my mother come to a concert was something I will always remember. Her look was priceless.

And what’s the moment you want to forget?
No regrets. Everything is a building block. There have been a few shows I've been booked where I come out with an acoustic guitar and the rest of the bands and crowd are a punk rockers. I'm more careful that I fit the bill before accepting a show or booking though I still tend to play any wheres as I just like to perform.

If you could choose just one of your songs to represent your music, what would it be and why?
Life Gets In the Way or Invisible. Self-explanatory sometimes.

Where can we listen to them?

Where can we find out more about your music?
