The Real deliver debut album Another First Step

AFTER more than a year of demos, pre-production, tracking sessions, fundraising, and countless favours The Real have released their debut album, Another First Step.

A spokesman for the band, which consists of four audio engineers and an academic music major, said: "We’ve all spent a great deal of time holed away in studios over the past 10 years, and we were intrigued to make The Real a completely self-produced project.

"It was time to put our experience to the test. We set out with a plan: write and demo 30 songs in our home studio, before even thinking about stepping into a professional studio. We wanted to create a project that was completely prepared. It can be easy to lose your way when you’re guiding yourself.

"Once we narrowed down a track list, emptied our savings, and sold some gear we had incredible assistance from Brian Moncarz (Moneen, Pilot Speed), Alf Annibalini (Big Sugar, Danko Jones), and Joel Kazmi (JackSoul). So, in the end there was some guidance.

"Overall we’re extremely happy with all of the tracks on the record. It was a never-ending learning train. We hope you enjoy."
