The Hazy Eyed Smiles Q&A

Band name:
The Hazy Eyed Smiles.

Where are you from?
South coast of England.

Who is in your band?
Pete (singer-songwriter), Lee (lead guitar), Dan (bass) and Darryl (drums).

How would you describe yourselves?
Our music is a mixed bag really, we can do the stadium rock sing-along chorus or we can do the softer side whilst still maintaining that energy that is essential to the listener of a new band.

Who are your main influences musically?
Our range of influences are what help us grow as a band, luckily we all come from slightly different backgrounds meaning that we all bring our own individual style to the table, you've got The Beatles, Kula Shaker, Chilli Peppers and Dire Straits just to name a few.

What do you hope to achieve in music?
We want from music what anyone hopes for and that is to become the biggest band in the world, we want to set ourselves apart from everyone else and actually achieve this.

What has been the highlight of your career so far, and why?
Our biggest success is the fact that we can create a song from scratch in the rehearsal room and take it on stage to some amazing feedback, I mean some of the comments have really blown us away.

And what’s the moment you want to forget?
We don't really have any regrets so far, the only bad thing to happen was a fight that broke out mid-set at one of recent gigs, we carried with a pulsating rendition of the Paul Weller classic 'changing man' to shut that commotion up.

If you had to pick just one of your songs to represent your music, what would it be and why?
It's hard to pinpoint one specific song to describe us, our song 'Give A Little Love' kind of sums up what were about now with its textured vocals exciting guitar riffs and creative rhythms it really brings an exciting change to a lot of music on the scene. We do have an EP on its way which is very exciting.
