Linten Splinters Q&A

Your name:
Ruth Punter.

Where are you from?
Brighton, UK.

Name of band:
Linten Splinters.

Who else is in your band?
Ian Kostrzewski (guitar, vocals) and me (vocals, guitar).

How would you describe yourselves?
Melodic harmonic pop rockers.

Who are your main influences musically?
Many and varied from our rock/metal roots (Iron Maiden, Metallica, The Wildhearts, Skunk Anansie), childhood influences (Abba, Musicals, The Who, Mozart) to more recent finds, old and new (Ginger, Within Temptation, Fleetwood Mac).

What do you hope to achieve in music?
Playing to full rooms and fields of people who know all the words to our songs!

What has been the highlight of your career so far, and why?
Our sell-out Christmas gigs. Always such a great atmosphere and a chance for us to have a bit of fun with our now legendary Christmas covers, including Fairytale of New York.

And what’s the moment you want to forget?
Probably just the usual technical hitches at sound check as well as anything related to former bands when we were young and naive.

If you could choose one of your songs as an advert for your music, what would it be and why?
It would have to be Apologies For Any Inconvenience Caused which is on our Apologies EP. It's got a good energy and captures our signature dual vocals.

Where can we listen to it?

Where can we find out more about your music?

Anything else you’d like to say about your band that I forgot to ask?
We are looking for other band members - percussion/drums and bass/keys. Get in touch! lintensplinters@googleamail.com
