Your name:
Russell Luke
Robertson.
Where are you from?
Merseyside (now
based in Sheffield).
Name of band:
The Castellers.
Who else is in
your band?
Ryan Healey
(Vocals)
Paul Patterson
(Drums)
Ali Morretti
(Bass)
Russell
Roberston (Guitar, Keys)
How would you
describe yourselves?
A British
RocknRoll band with penchant for 60s Mod, garage & psychedelia.
Who are your main
influences musically?
The Doors, The
Kinks, Ennio Morricone, The Who, Brian Jonestown Massacre, The Byrds, The Small
Faces, The Seeds, The Coral.
What do you hope
to achieve in music?
To deliver for
the purists. To gig, tour and record for those with a musically enlightened
soul... that and a supply of money, drugs & women.
What has been the
highlight of your career so far, and why?
Performing at a
60s night called The Beat Club run by Mani (The Stone Roses). A hero of ours,
was a particularly good night, top geezer.
And what’s the
moment you want to forget?
Getting banned
from our first rehearsal room back in Merseyside. We had a fantastic set up, no
charge and it happened to be the only decent live venue in the town. However,
the outlandish behaviour from several members of the band well and truly blew
that one for us.
If you could
choose just one of your songs to represent your music, what would it be and
why?
'Five Days
Time'. We only have a few tracks recorded so far but it's a psychedelic circus
waltz on acid, what more do you want?
Where can we
listen to it?

Where can we find
out more about your music?
Anything else
you’d like to say about your band that I forgot to ask?
Just that we are
a massively ambitious band and we genuinely appreciate what support we get. All
unsigned bands/artists need that love and are nothing without it.
