The Honest Mistake Band Q&A

Band name:
The Honest Mistake Band.

Where are you from?
Daly City, California, USA.

Who is in your band?
Pete-Rocko (Drums, Bass and Vocals) and John-Flyin Johnny V (Guitar, Keyboards & Vocals).

How would you describe yourselves?
The band was formed in 1985 and we went through numerous band members in the past. In 1997, John and I decided to play all the instruments ourselves,  playing music and writing songs are not really a task, let's say, you had a bad day or you read about something that pissed you off, that's when those lyrics just flow out quite easily. The main thing is that you love to play music, that my friends, is what it's all about!.

Who are your main influences musically?
Black Sabbath, Lynyrd Skynyrd, AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, ZZ Top etc..There are just too many outstanding bands to list!

What do you hope to achieve in music?
Being a successful rock band and succeed has been the  #1 priority for us, we are fortunate enough to have day jobs to help play them bills, but I have a saying: "Never give up on your dreams - hard work, family, friends and continued determination will get you there!"

What has been the highlight of your career so far, and why?
Well, just recently our song, Everything Is Bad For You was nominated for the March 2013 (Rock/Hard Rock) song category at (The Akademia Music Awards)  www.theakademia.com   and we are truly honored! Also, our fans and friends including all of our new ones on Reverbnation and Facebook are amazing, we truly appreciate their support!

And what’s the moment you want to forget?
We played a club back in the late 80s and the sound engineer at the club really messed up, I was playing my drums and couldn't hear our bass player, John couldn't hear either of us, the crowd was confused too - it was a real nightmare!

If you could choose just one of your songs to represent your music, what would it be and why?
Wow, that's a hard one....I'll say, "Everything Is Bad For You", the song represents everyone, the song is about your personal liberty and freedom and the right to choose your own destiny. Politicians, bureaucrats and organizations should not be making decisions for you and tell you that they know what's best for you - you should be responsible for yourself and make your own decisions concerning what you either consume, buy or do with your life which includes raising your own children. Restricting and regulating our freedoms through deceptive measures and agendas is not what America is all about, we are just trying to open peoples eyes and minds and hope they can do their own research concerning today's current events and decide for themselves, if the current path we are taking is better than a prosperous path which includes freedom and liberty, then we are on a dark path towards tyranny through deception and lies.

Where can we listen to it?

Where can we find out more about your music?
We are on (Reverbnation, Facebook, Twitter, youtube, Beat100, Spotlightzone).
