Pleasure Curses Q&A

Your name:
Jahn Alexander.

Where are you from?
Based out of Washington DC.

Name of band:
Pleasure Curses.

Who else is in your band?
Evan Maxwell.

How would you describe yourselves?
Good Friends. We've been working with electronic dance, disco and new-wave.

Who are your main influences musically?
LCD Soundsystem, Ghostland Observatory, New Order, Handsome Furs, Pulp, David Sitek productions etc.

What do you hope to achieve in music?
Creating and performing around the world. Constant improvement.

What has been the highlight of your career so far, and why?
A Parisian director named Guillaume Thuillier reached out to us about directing a music video for us and he did a fantastic job. It was proof how you can interact with like-minded creative people on a global scale and yield great results.

And what’s the moment you want to forget?
Playing a night with a crappy covers band that played a two hour set and we were stuck because all of our gear was still onstage. But even that served a lesson.

If you had to pick just one of your songs to represent your music, what would it be and why?
We are constantly evolving and shifting in mood and style but our recent song 'Bounce Above' is a good glimpse into the spirit of our live shows.

Where can we listen to it?

Where can we find out more about your music?

Anything else you’d like to say about your band/music that I forgot to ask?
We write and produce everything ourselves from the music to the artwork in a garage.
