TMRD Q&A

Your name:
Toby Michaels.

Where are you from?
Inverness, Scotland.

Name of band:
TMRD.

Who else is in your band?
Murdo MacArthur - guitar, Stewart McArthur - guitar, Steve Robertson - bass guitar, Calum Martin - drums.

How would you describe yourselves?
An adrenaline-fuelled hard rock freight train.

Who are your main influences musically?
Everything from Led Zep to Elvis, Megadeth to Tenacious D through Meat Loaf and AC/DC.

What do you hope to achieve in music?
We PROMISE to bring rock 'n' roll anarchy to the world one gig at a time. So naturally a Bill and Ted style domination of universal domination musically. Continuing on from where 2013 left off though naturally is a good start.

What has been the highlight of your career so far, and why?
Several festival appearances, headline touring, playing wrestling events, supporting Heaven's Basement and supporting Voodoo Six are all right up there. To pick out an individual moment would disrespect ever other little moment. Whether in front of 100 or a million people we will always have fun, that is a career highlight there!

And what’s the moment you want to forget?
Their are plenty of moments for me personally I could regret if I was that sort of person. Tearing the nerve in my knee diving off stage, punching my hand to numbness on tour, ripping my hair out on stage, picking a fight with a pro wrestler... I could bitch and moan about them all. But where would be the fun in an experience if i didn't give 100%? These moments are not negative to me, they are my war wounds that remind me how much i love to rock and entertain.

If you had to pick just one of your songs to represent your music, what would it be and why?
A Little Bit of What You Fancy (Does You Good)  - It is a simple rock song with a simple message... go and enjoy yourself, don't be stepped on and don't be afraid to party!

Where can we listen to it?
A free download can be picked up at www.tmrd.co.uk where you can also find out anything you need to know about the band.  Or add us on twitter at @rollingdamned or myself personally at @thetobymichaels

Anything else you’d like to say about your band/music that I forgot to ask?
Watch out for a full CD release this year and some extensive touring.  If you want the most manic rock performance you will see in your lifetime come see me with my band as i physically drain myself for your entertainment.
