The Psykodelik Vampyres Q&A

Your name:
Gethin Lewis.

Where are you from?
Philadelphia PA, USA.

Name of band:
The Psykodelik Vampyres.

Who else is in your band?
Scott Murray (drums) and Dave Murray (bass).

How would you describe yourselves and your music?
A group of trans-dimensional beings from the farthest regions of inner space. Having escaped the confines of the prismatic void, The PVamps venture forth across the desolate wastelands of their adopted planet Earth, consuming any dark energy that they encounter and radiating positive vibrations by means of the ancient art of neurosynthesis.
The Earth creatures call it "music".
Blending of many diverse elements of sounds and visions, psychedelic, goth, jazz, blues, punk, reggae, waltz(!), steampunk, classic horror, funk, glam, electronica...we like to call it Heavy Mental.

Who are your main influences musically?
Way too many to mention, but since I write the majority of the music, I'll say Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, Syd Barrett, Yes, and thousands more.

What do you hope to achieve in music?
Being able to make a living at bringing good vibes and hope to people as well as having a good time all the time.

What has been the highlight of your career so far, and why?
Still awaiting some highlights, especially with the grey hairs coming in...

If you had to pick just one of your songs to represent your music, what would it be and why?
If one song could represent your music, that'd be pretty boring.

Where can we listen to your music?

Where can we find out more about your music?

Anything else you’d like to say about your music that I forgot to ask?
Thanks for the interest, and all good vibes/thoughts/wishes to you!

A three-month tour where we play every second night in front of at least 50 people.

Strangers who wanna buy a hackmonocut album after a live show. After weeks or months
alone in the dark writing songs on my own without getting any feedback from outside, new fans telling you they loved your music is one of the coolest things in music.

And what’s the moment you want to forget?

None.

If you had to pick just one of your songs to represent your music, what would it be and why?

virgin suicide bomber. It has everything in it, the dark soul of our music, melancholy, irony, love, death and social criticism.

Symbiotic Systems Q&A

Your name:
Jan Jamaszyk (guitar).

Where are you from?
Hannover, Germany.

Name of band:
Symbiotic Systems.

Who else is in your band?
Diana Pretz (vocals), Hans-Christian Jentsch (keys and vocals) Marcel Krümpelmann (drums) and Leonie Broder (bass).

How would you describe yourselves?
Our music is a mixture of gothic metal and storytelling, especially in the new album which is about fairytales.

Who are your main influences musically?
We listen to bands like Within Temptation, Dream Theater and Dimmu Borgir, but also let ourselves be inspired by classical music and folk.

What do you hope to achieve in music?
We want to reach and inspire as many people as possible with our music.

What has been the highlight of your career so far, and why?
Without doubt that was playing at the M'era Luna festival 2012, on that huge stage where bands like HIM, Placebo and Nightwish once played.

And what’s the moment you want to forget?
Well, there were some tough times when we worked on that album 24h, but it was usually worth it in the end.

If you had to pick just one of your songs to represent your music, what would it be and why?
That would be the first song on the album, called "Scarlet Prey". It has all the elements that characterize our music, very melodic but also heavy guitars and synthesizer parts.

Where can we listen to it?
This is the Amazon link to our album, where you can also listen to previews of all songs

Where can we find out more about your music?

Ashestoangels Q&A

Your name:
Crilly (vocals).

Where are you from?
Bristol town is our collective home.

Band name:
Ashestoangels.

Who else is in your band?
Jim (drums), Nico (bass) and Adam (guitar).

How would you describe yourselves?
Synthy goth punk.

Who are your main influences musically?
We all like a lot of different bands but I'm the one with they keyboard here haha. I think we sound a bit like a mix of The Misfits, Aiden, AFI, Alkaline Trio, My Passion and Vex Red. But we never set out to sound like anyone really... Just play fast songs as hard as we can.

What do you hope to achieve in music?
Being able to play good shows to good people every night. Playing live is the best thing. We have the best fans and it's amazing getting to meet them.

What has been the highlight of your career so far, and why?
The tour we are on right now is pretty excellent. Seems like everything is coming together and all the hard work is paying off. Of course we all have some heinous lung illness but that's just par for the course I suppose.

And what’s the moment you want to forget?
We've tried our hardest to learn from all our mistakes and the shitty things that have happened to us. It's been a long time since we've had any fully cringeworthy disasters, so maybe we've managed to forget them!

If you were asked to pick just one of your songs to represent your music, what would it be and why?
That would be difficult. There are a couple of sides to the band and you can't really get a full idea of what we are about with only one song but I'm really enjoying playing Dorian on this tour.

Where can we listen to it?

Where can we find out more about your music?

Anything else you’d like to say about your band that I forgot to ask?
I think Brendan Fraser's got us covered...
"OK, you've sold out the Forum, you're standing in front of 20,000 screaming fans. What are you gonna say to 'em?" - l'm gonna say..... rock'n'roll!"
