Mr Tom Q&A

Your name:
Donny B, I play the bass in Mr Tom.

Where are you from?

From the New Forest, South of England.

Name of band:
Mr Tom.

Who else is in your band?
We've got Nick Crowe (guitar/vox), Lee Marcer (drums) and Stevie G (guitar/tour bus driver).

How would you describe yourselves?
We would probably fit into the indie/pop sort of category, but we like to call our sound banger pop!

Who are your main influences musically?
On my radar recently I have Don Broco, and Little Comets as my stand out wow bands that have drawn me in and influencing me. The other lads are probably nothing like that hahah, I know lee likes a lot of tripe, so he's probably heavily influenced by Little Mix or Chris Brown or something like that!

What do you hope to achieve in music?
I'd love to make the band my full time job, so that for sure, then it would be everything that comes with being a pro, touring the world and just churnin out record after record.

What has been the highlight of your career so far, and why?
Well, there are two. The first tour we did in 2012, living in a van for six weeks travelling the length of the country a few times and all the shenanigans long the way. The second was getting the chance to work with Danton Supple in London on our debut EP (which is out in June 2013), that was just a touch for me!

And what’s the moment you want to forget?
Probably when we were all going to kill each other one drunken night in the tour van, in a sleepy village called Noss Mayo in Devon. Thank God we could all just laugh it off the next morning, still its pretty embarrassing to want to rip your band mate's head off, all just because you drank too much!

If you could choose just one of your songs to represent your music, what would it be and why?
I'd choose C'est La Vie, which is going to be coming out on the EP in June, because there was something special when we wrote that song, we were all uncontrollably laughing, and so happy that we had even written it.
