Secret Oktober Q&A

Your name:
Sebastian Storm.

Where are you from?
Birmingham, England.

Name of band:
Secret Oktober.

Who is in your band?
Sebastian Storm - vocals, keyboards, guitar
Andy Foster - fretless bass, keyboards
Simon Pearce - lead guitar
Paul Smith - drums

How would you describe yourselves?
We're a new and original new romantic/synthpop band from Birmingham. We've been described as Gary Numan and Duran Duran's lovechild.

Who are your main influences musically?
Japan, Duran Duran, Gary Numan, Ultravox, the Human League, Soft Cell, OMD.

What do you hope to achieve in music?
We aim to make people have a good time and dance. Or gently sway on the spot, depending on the song.

What has been the highlight of your career so far, and why?
We've released our debut album 'Invitation to the Dance' in February of 2013, which has been reviewed in Issue 4 of Classic Pop Magazine. They gave us the same rating as Depeche Mode's latest offering. Not bad, considering we did it the whole lot by ourselves with no financial backing!

And what’s the moment you want to forget?
Something involving a straw hat.

If you were asked to pick just one of your songs to represent your music, what would it be and why?
Synthetic Girl. It's got a great rhythm and is full of funky guitars and synths. That's funky as in 'Nile Rodgers funky', we don't smell.

Where can we listen to it?
You can listen to our entire album, free of charge, via http://www.secretoktober.co.uk/music.htm - if you like it, please buy it!

Where can we find out more about your music?
Our album is available as MP3 download via iTunes, Play.com, AmazonMP3, and Google Play, and on CD directly through our website.
