How would you describe yourselves?
Fine purveyors of rock n' roll mayhem. "With an eclectic sound best described as 70’s infused power pop Shattervox consistently delivers a high energy show. Shows feature an entertaining mix of hard hitting original music, and alternate takes on “lesser known” favourites showcasing a wide range of artists. Hold on to your seats and enjoy the ride!"
Who are your main influences musically?
The Rolling Stones, AC/DC, Pink Floyd, The Eagles, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, The White Stripes, Green Day.
What do you hope to achieve in music?
We love playing live shows and we love creating new music and we hope to continue to do both for as long as possible. We released our debut album in June of 2012 and are currently working on our follow up. We aim to continue 'expanding' our musical palette to while staying faithful to our organic 'live off the floor' sound.
Through our live shows, we aim to continue building our local fan-base by focusing on playing shows in and around Toronto. And simultaneously we want to continue building our international and global fan-base through the continuous release of new original Shattervox material through digital channels. So far we are enjoying success on both fronts!
What has been the highlight of your career so far, and why?
There have been many highlights: As far as performances go, having the opportunity to headline such legendary Toronto venues such as the Hard Rock Cafe, The El Mocambo, The Distillery Main Square and The Cadillac Lounge have been huge highlights. The release of our debut album "Before There Was No After" in 2012 was the culmination of a lifelong for all of us and we are thrilled with the global reach our music has had, with digital and CD sales from all corners of the earth as well as significant airplay of our music from many great stations across the globe. It's been a great ride all around!
And what’s the moment you want to forget?
Some of the early gigs were ROUGH ... let's face it we were TERRIBLE! Not sure we want to forget any of it though ... they are all great memories, and they have made us who we are today.
If you could choose just one of your songs to represent your music, what would it be and why?
It's hard to pick just one because we have an eclectic sound that (within the 'rock' genre) covers a wide spectrum. Having said that, "She's A Mess" seems to be a fan favourite ... and it's a good choice because you can hire a wide range of influences from the Rolling Stones to Chuck Berry to Green Day to the Beach Boys!
