New name and new music from NYPC

THE band formally known as New Young Pony Club return later this year with a third album.

Newly named NYPC's eponymous album is out on October 7th and will be preceded in mid-August by the single Hard Knocks.

NYPC represents something of a rebirth for singer Tahita Bulmer and multi-instrumentalist Andy Spence.

The pair decided to shut everyone and everything else out and holed up in a London studio to record and self-produce the album.

Talking about their decision to be a duo Andy said: "It feels like a new band in a way, but Ty and I had been writing for at least a year or more before anyone else had ever entered the frame.

"The majority of [debut album] Fantastic Playroom had already been written and recorded with just us. So it feels like we've just come back to the honest position where we're started."

NYPC will be playing a number of free shows throughout July and into August to promote the album, including dates in Bristol, Reading, Nottingham, Manchester and London in the UK.
