The Double Happy Q&A

Your name:
Stephen Edward King.

Where are you from?
Wolverhampton, West Midlands, UK.

Name of band:
The Double Happy.

Who else is in your band?
Martin Warlow and Dicky Bingo.

How would you describe yourselves?
A fuzzy, dirty, shouty Glenn Miller Band on a night out with Frank Zappa and Page Hamilton.

Who are your main influences musically?
Cable, Future of the Left, Cardiacs and At the Drive-in.

What do you hope to achieve in music?
To keep on playing until the arthritis sets in.

What has been the highlight of your career so far, and why?
For our third ever gig we got to support The Damned at The Wulfrun Hall in Wolverhampton. The best bit was drinking coffee with Captain Sensible. Like proper punks.

And what’s the moment you want to forget?
I've forgotten the question.

If you had to pick just one of your songs to represent your music, what would it be and why?
Probably 'Working Girl' or 'Expletive Deleted' or 'Michael Caine'. I cant pick one without thinking of another.

Where can we listen to it?

Where can we find out more about your music?

Anything else you’d like to say about your band/music that I forgot to ask?
We have a mini album 'A Principal Go With a Red Dust' out on Bancamp. You can download it for free, unless you're feeling charitable.
