Avale Q&A

Your name:
Imran Khalique.

Where are you from?

We are from the city that never sleeps. That’s right New York City.

Name of band:
Avale.

Who is in your band?
Imran Khalique - Lead Vocal/Lead guitar
Jeff Karakatsanis - Rhythm guitar
Richard Ross - Drums and percussion
Christos Tine - Bass

How would you describe yourselves?
We are a collective of sonic differences that ultimately make up this thing we like to call Avale :)

Who are your main influences musically?
We have many influences ranging from different genres but our main influences stem from bands like Chevelle, Breaking Benjamin, Tool, and Nirvana.

What do you hope to achieve in music?
We really just love what we do. We want people to feel the message we convey through our music and lyrics. Let’s just say that if anything major comes out of it, we will not turn it down. Above all, we strive for quality in our arrangements no matter how long it takes the achieve that.

What has been the highlight of your career so far, and why?
Our biggest highlight was playing a show with A Loss For Words, My Ticket Home, and Carousel Kings. It proved to us that we belong and can very well thrive with the big players in the industry.

And what’s the moment you want to forget?
We want to forget the fact that we lost some really talented band members in the past due to simple lack of commitment. The vibes we shared was irreplaceable but you have to move on with a more goal oriented mindset.

If you had to pick just one of your songs to represent your music, what would it be and why?
Out of all the songs, the one that best represents us is ‘Safe Tonight”. It shows our passionate side as well as our aggressive side. It also displays our success with experimenting new sounds and unconventional vocal melodies.

Where can we listen to it?
We have this song up on our official website. http://www.avalemusic.com/music.html

Where can we find out more about your music?
Everyone is welcome to visit us and follow us on our social media pages.

Anything else you’d like to say about your band/music that I forgot to ask?
Yes we would like to mention that we have a new EP coming out in a week or so. It will have some very interesting sounds that our fans (new and old) will absolutely dig.
