Marc.
Where are you from?
Paisley, Scotland.
Name of band:
Purple Valentino.
Who is in your band?
Danny Graham (violin), Glen Arnot (drums), Dougie Macsween
(vocals/guitar), Scott Wyper (bass) and me Marc Hughes (guitar)
How would you describe
yourselves?
Melodic rock.
Who are your main influences
musically?
Gun, The Clash, Hanoi Rocks, Tom Petty, to name but a few.
What do you hope to achieve in
music?
Just to enjoy it as long as possible, we always say theres no better fun
than being in a band with a bunch of your mates.
What has been the highlight of
your career so far, and why?
Supporting Dan Reed was great as he’s such a nice
guy. Also playing the Stramash Festival in Stornoway was a blast as the
atmosphere was electric. Road trips are always fun.
And what’s the moment you want
to forget?
We played a place in Edinburgh and they had to use a stand in sound
guy as they’re regular dude was off somewhere. It just sounded awful.
If you had to pick just one of
your songs to represent your music, what would it be and why?
“After All These
Times” probably because it is pretty energetic and has our usual guitar hook
ideas in it.
Where can we listen to
it?
Where can we find out more
about your music?
Anything else you’d like to
say that I forgot to ask?
Just that we hope you like it because we have a gas
doing it.
