Adam Relf, who's the producer. We're working with other musicians on a live set but Adam and I have written the songs. We'll see, Three Laws may expand to include more people at some point.

How would you describe yourselves?
We're very different personalities but we've been friends for a decade now, so I think the music is testament to those years; it works even though it's a weird mix! It's quite dramatic. Adam's quite passionate (or head-strong, perhaps) and that comes out in all the epic piano and percussion; when we wrote the EP I was going through a break-up and moving back to London, so inevitably my lyrics and vocals are a tad sad! They're about leaving and moving on...

Who are your main influences musically?
I love women singers, starting with Ani Difranco when I was a teenager. Now I listen to a lot of Cat Power, Santi Gold, Tune-Yards, London Grammar, and non-female artists too, like James Blake, Wild Beasts, The Maccabees. Nina Simone is an all time favourite though. We both really liked the Alt-J album An Awesome Wave. Adam listens to a lot of classical music and film scores.

WORLD DOMINATION. No - peace of mind? For me it's very cathartic to make music. Truth? Or is that a pretentious answer? My truth.

What has been the highlight of your career so far, and why?
In my musical career it would be playing live in a field somewhere. Adam's got to the top of various breaks charts and had his records played all over the world.

Playing a gig when I was ill and then hearing it back on the radio!

If you had to pick just one of your songs to represent your music, what would it be and why?
The Only Way. We wrote it first and it influenced how we approached writing all the other tunes. I like its simplicity.
